Fabulous vintage designer dress find from Geoffrey Beene- vintage black silk knit column gown with a modified halter style bodice. The top is lined and can be worn without a bra( under most circumstances!) It closes in front with hooks and eyes. and then covered snaps from the bottom of the hooks and eyes over to the left where there is a side zipper. The skirt is long and straight, lined in silk, with no slit. It is a knit, so there is some give to the fabric.
The dress gets some real POP with its extra wide 3 1/2" leather-backed suede belt in bright red, and the huge tortoise buckle, well I cannot tell if it is wood or plastic- it is lightweight.
The silk scarf is a "Jewelcase" label, Made in France, and is 33" square. It is a great polka-dotted abstract in red and black on green and has the Geoffrey Beene Signature. It and the dress are in mint condition.
Our model is a size 2-4, and this seems to fit her well.
